2) Subject For my Bay Area Vaudevillian and burlesque folks Body: New
upcoming performance opportunity in the East Bay:

VAUDEVILLE A LA MODE NEEDS YOU!!!

Vaudeville: vaude-ville (n) theatrical entertainment consisting of a number
of individual performances, acts, or mixed numbers, as by comedians,
singers, dancers, acrobats, and magicians.

A La Mode: (ah-luh-mohd) A French phrase meaning "in the prevailing
fashion".

What is Vaudeville A La Mode?: Vaudeville A La Mode is a monthly Vaudeville
style entertainment extravaganza at the East Bay's best bar/entertainment
venue, The Uptown (1928 Telegraph Ave.) hosted by bay area rockers, The
Girlfriend Experience.

Vaudeville A La Mode is a community building event that will take place the
first Friday after the 15th of each month...the first event being Friday,
March 16th.

What is Vaudeville A La Mode's goal: To provide the bay area
arts/music/entertainment community and their patrons with a truly unique
club going entertainment experience, featuring music, art, singing, dancing,
drinks, food and fun all at a price that will make your dollar holler!!!

What we are looking for: We are currently looking for quirky acoustic acts,
bands, lounge singers, comedians to MC the event and do a 15 minute routine
between each band (about 45 minutes to an hour total time),
artists/photographers/sculptors/etc. (to display and sell your work at the
club), and entertainers (of all varieties...the more unique the
better...dancers, magicians, jugglers, makers of adult themed balloon
animals, etc.)

Entertainers are paid from split of the door. Artists/sculptors/etc. are
paid from sale of their works which will be promoted over the course of the
evening.

If you or someone you know would be interested in participating in this
monthly event (beginning Friday, March 16th) please e-mail me here or at
news@gfemusic.com and let us know what you're all about.
